Cayton Bay - Scarborough

Location and Surrounding Area

Cayton Bay is located bedside the resorts of Scarborough and Filey and is right in the heart of the beautiful Yorkshire coastline. Surrounded by idyllic scenery and with a fantastic wide sweeping sandy beach just a short stroll away.  The beach is one of the most popular surfing locations on the coast with both professional and beginners alike.  A perfect location to explore the Yorkshire coastline, you can enjoy an invigorating coastal walk on the short route from Cayton Bay to Scarborough. The route runs for approximately 3 miles along a fantastic clifftop path with great coastal views along the whole of your walk.

The charming town of Scarborough is located about a 15-minute drive from Cayton Bay Holiday Park.  A notable landmark in the town is the Grand Hotel on St Nicholas Cliff.  A blue plaque outside the hotel marks where the novelist Anne Bronte died in 1849.  She was buried in the graveyard of St Mary’s Church by the Castle.  The 11th Century ruins of Scarborough Castle divide the seafront into two bays, North and South.  The South Bay, with the Old Town and harbour, remains the main tourist part.  The North Bay is more peaceful and is home to Peasholm Park, a beautiful Japanese-themed park with a boating lake where you can hire a variety of boats.  There is also a miniature railway that runs from the park through Northstead Manor Gardens to the Sea Life Centre at Scalby Mills. You will also find the local amenities which include coffee shops, bars, and restaurants.

Scarborough Market Hall is open Monday to Saturday from 8am – 4pm and provides high-quality fresh local food as well as a huge variety of independent shops and stalls.
