Location and surrounding area

Poppy Lodge is set in the small village of Flitcham in Norfolk. It sits within a conservation area, 7 miles east of King’s Lynn and along with the neighbouring villages of Anmer, West Newton, Wolferton and Shernborne is part of the Sandringham Estate and many of the attractive carrstone cottages are still in the ownership of the Royal Estate.

There are some great local organic food producers, farm shops and markets in the area.  If you’re a bird watcher, there’s a local nature reserve with a bird watching hide, there are stately homes and museums, a sea life sanctuary and local beaches to enjoy.

Property Description

Poppy Lodge is an attractive house dating back to 1837 with mature shrubs and flower bordered pathways leading to the front door and mature bushes and trees provide privacy to the walled garden which is mainly laid to lawn.

Poppy Lodge is a generously proportioned two-storey house. Enter through the boot room which is the main entry door, second door on the left, as you walk up the garden path past the porch. The washer/drier are located here. From the boot room there is a garden room with sofa, TV and DVD player. You can gain access through the sliding doors to the patio area which has an outdoor seating area.

Just off the boot room the fully fitted kitchen has everything you need to enjoy your holiday, crockery, cutlery, glasses and much more. There is a built-in oven, hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher and a farmhouse kitchen table and chairs. Adjoining is a smart dining room which leads into the cosy lounge which has a wood burning stove. There is also a TV and DVD player.

From the hall the staircase leads upstairs to the four bedrooms which sleep a maximum of six people. All bedrooms have lovely views over the garden.

The master bedroom has a king-sized bed which is situated next door to a bathroom with bath and shower over. There is a second bedroom which has a king size bed and two further small bedrooms that have single beds. There is a family bathroom with separate bath and walk in shower.

In addition to this, there are two downstairs toilets located off the hallway and the garden room.

All towels and bed linen are supplied for your holiday. The Trust does not supply beach towels, so please remember to take them with you on holiday. Please do not remove towels from the property.

Dog owners are welcome to bring one well-mannered, well-behaved dog to this holiday home. Your dog must remain downstairs in boot room and kitchen. Your dog is not permitted in the main living areas or anywhere upstairs. You must clean up after your dog, inside the house and outside in the garden too. Please be respectful to the next member staying in the house, who of course, may not be a dog-lover like you.
