Location and surrounding area
Silverwood is situated in the pretty village of Great Rissington comprising of traditional Cotswold properties which lie within the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village has a well-known pub called The Lamb. There are no shops, but the village is approximately 6 miles from the local market town of Stow-on-the-Wold which has a good range of shopping facilities, pubs, and restaurants. The historic town of Bourton-on-the-Water which is approximately 3 miles away, made popular by the shallow river Windrush running through the centre, is also known as “little Venice” and has a good range of shops, pubs, restaurants, and sporting facilities.
There are plenty of activities for all the family from local walks with 3,000 miles of public footpaths to explore, a model village, a motoring museum, a nature reserve, several famous gardens, and historic buildings, Dragonfly Maze, and the famous Cheltenham racecourse. There are also plenty of pubs and restaurants in the surrounding quintessential English villages to enjoy.
Silverwood is located on Sherborne Lane. The front garden is mainly laid to lawn with trees and shrubs. There is a patio area at the rear of the house which has lovely rural views over the countryside.
The front door leads you into the entrance hall, the large open plan kitchen, dining area, and sitting room is located to the left of the entrance hall. This is a bright room with bi-fold doors leading to the front garden. This room has a wood-burning stove. The kitchen is fully fitted with everything you need to enjoy your holiday, crockery, cutlery, glasses and much more and is equipped with a Rangemaster cooker, dishwasher and fridge/freezer . French doors lead out to the rear patio area so you can enjoy alfresco dining in the warmer months. Just off the hall you will find a utility room with a washing machine, tumble dryer and a cloakroom.
The House sleeps a maximum of six people. On the ground floor there is a king size bedroom with a shower room next door. From the hall the staircase leads upstairs to three bedrooms which comprise 1 double and 2 single bedrooms along with a family bathroom.
Important to note that the upstairs landing, bathroom, and all 3 bedrooms have low coombed ceilings with Velux windows, so it is important that you take extra care in these areas to avoid banging your head.
The house has oil central heating throughout; underfloor heating on the ground floor and radiators on the first floor.
All towels and bed linen are supplied for your holiday. Please do not remove towels from the property.
Dog owners are welcome to bring one well-mannered, well-behaved dog to this Holiday Home. Your dog must remain downstairs in the utility room. Your dog is not permitted anywhere upstairs. You must clean up after your dog, inside the house and outside in the garden too. Please be respectful to the next Member staying in the house, who of course, may not be a dog-lover like you.
