Cladach

Location and surrounding area

Cladach is situated in a fantastic position overlooking Loch Snizort on the Trotternish Peninsula, at the northern end of the Isle of Skye.  Set in a secluded bay with only a couple of neighbours, Cladach is in a remote yet accessible spot only 12 miles north of Portree and two miles south of Uig.

Portree is the largest town on Skye in the Inner Hebrides.  There are numerous shops including a large Co-op supermarket, cafes and eateries.  There is a doctor and dentist surgery, vets, a swimming pool, gym, and boat cruises.

Portree is also the cultural hub of Skye; one of its main attractions is the award-winning Aros Centre, which runs regular theatre, concerts and film screenings.  They also have a café. Uig, two miles to the north, has the busy ferry terminal with sailings to Harris and Lewis.  There is a coffee shop, restaurant, pottery, village store (which stocks just about everything) and also a local brewery if you fancy a tipple.

There are lots of activities to do in the area, sailing, cycling, horse riding, waterskiing, fishing, and if you are keen on walking and climbing, this is a wonderful area for an adventure, with the Cullin Munros close by. Alternatively, you can just relax and sit in the garden with a good book and take in the wonderful scenery.
