Blackwell Cottage - The Lake District

Location and surrounding area

Blackwell Cottage is approximately 2 miles from Bowness-on-Windermere; a popular tourist town on the shore of the 12-mile long Lake Windermere.  It is one of Cumbria’s most popular destinations, with the town busy for much of the year.  It hosts several restaurants, pubs and eateries.  Shops and watersports are in abundance too.  The car ferry takes you across the width of the lake from just south of Bowness, Ferry Nab to Ferry House at Far Sawrey.  There’s the World of Beatrix Potter in Bowness-on-Windermere http://www.visitcumbria.com/c-f-k-world-of-beatrix-potter/ and also Windermere Steamboat Museum http://www.visitcumbria.com/amb/windermere-steamboat-museum/ plus many more attractions.  Last, but by no means least, the Lake District is renowned for walking, so make sure you pack your boots and waterproofs to make the most of this beautiful corner of England.

The cottage is tucked away just off the A5074 on the B5360 approximately 200 metres from Blackwell, the Arts and Craft House www.blackwell.org.uk
