Blackwell Cottage is approximately 2 miles from Bowness-on-Windermere; a popular tourist town on the shore of the 12-mile long Lake Windermere. It is one of Cumbria’s most popular destinations, with the town busy for much of the year. It hosts several restaurants, pubs and eateries. Shops and watersports are in abundance too. The car ferry takes you across the width of the lake from just south of Bowness, Ferry Nab to Ferry House at Far Sawrey.
